There’s a lot of water softeners out there, and it’s a bit overwhelming.
Our water is 21gpg, so it’s considered pretty hard. There’s apparently iron in our water as well, per the water company.
There’s “Nanotech” ones out there, and ones that run on salt, and ones that run on potassium. There’s no comparison website for any of these, except for the really espensive ones (Pelican and Lifesource) have their own made-up comparisons.
So, for you plumbers and water softener owners out there, what works, what’s safe, what’s the best and what’s affordable?

I have a Water Boss brand softener. My plumber recommended it. They cost about 0. Works great.
